Full Description

NC65SW 7 62 50.

An incised boulder lies near the N end of Loch Laoghal (NC 62 50) and about half a mile from the loch. It is about 3ft across and 18ins thick bearing three deeply cut depressions on its upper surface. The largest of these is central in position and ring-like in form, the ring being 5 1/2ins in total diameter, 1 1/2ins in breadth, and 1 1/2ins deep; the other two are almost rectangular in shape, the larger being 3 ins on length by aboout 2ins in breadth and 3ins deep, the smaller about 2 1/2ins in length, by 1 3/4ins in breadth and 1 1/2ins in depth (Information contained in letter from Dr J H W Laing, Dundee to SAS, 1894). A bronze chisel (NC65SW 6) was found nearby.
