(NH 7385 9846) Hut Circle (NR) OS 6" map, (1969)

Some 150 yards WNW of the cairn (NH79NW 14) are the remains of a circular construction about 30' internal diameter, which appears to
have had secondary rectangular structures in the interior.
In the vicinity of the cairn are a number of small mounds, and some 60 yards W is a small oval mound. A few feet to the NW of the mound is a natural hillock with a small circular mound, probably artificial, on top. RCAHMS 1911, visited 1909

A stone-walled hut measuring c.11.0m in diameter between wall centres. Both inner and outer faces, of stones set on edge, are visible around the W arc, giving a wall thickness of 1.7m, but elsewhere the wall is mutilated and totally destroyed in the SE. The entrance is not apparent. The "rectangular structures" in the interior are quarry pits. About 1.5m outside the W arc of the hut is a straight line of 7 set stones, c.3.0m in length, of uncertain purpose. All the mounds referred to by the RCAHMS are stone clearance heaps.
They extend from the hut about 180.0m to the E, and are probably from contemporary cultivation plots.
Visited by OS (W D J) 5 November 1964 and (R L) 13 November 1969.

No change. Visited by OS (N K B) 16 November 1980.
