(NH 7278 9858) Standing Stone (NR) OS 6" map, (1969)

An undressed stone on a small mound which is supposed to be a grave. Name Book 1873.

A quadrangular standing stone protrudes from a long, low cairn of stones, which may be field-gathered. The stone, which faces NNW-SSE, is 4ft 4ins high, 1ft 11ins across the base and 1ft 1ins thick. The cairn is about 2ft high. The site is locally known as 'The Swedish Man's Grave'. RCAHMS 1911, visited 1909.

The stone is as described. Turf-covered, stone mound measures 11m by 6m by 0.5m high. Visited by OS (W D J) 6 April 1964.

As described by the previous authorities; name 'The Swedish Man's Grave' is not known locally.
