Full Description

NH79SW 14 700 946.

Oval house platform, field system: noted during pre-afforestation survey.
D Ross 1983.

An oval house platform has been constructed on a steep slope. It measures overall 9.5m NE-SW by 13.5m NW-SE. Slight traces of inner and outer wall faces on NW give a wall width of 1.3m. A tumbled revetment exists on the downhill side but the site has been robbed for a nearby dyke.... Up to 30 substantial clearance cairns surround the hut circles over an area of almost 1 1/2 ha. Some cairns are adjoined by lynchets. See NH79SW 18.
D W Ross, S E Finlay and P Ashmore 1983, 15 (see archive MS/578/1)
