Full Description

Centred at NH 728 991 on a generally WSW-facing slope is a settlement of 3 stone-walled huts (A-C) with field system.
The hut dimensions are between wall centres.
Hut 'A' is oval and built up on the slope. It measures c. 12.5m from the NNW through the simple entrance in the SSE by c. 10.5m with the wall spread to c. 3.0m all round.
'B' is oval and set into the slope. It measures c. 12.0m from the NNW through the simple entrance in the SSE by c. 10.0m with the wall 2.0m thick at the rear where occasional inner and outer facing stones can be seen and spread to c. 2.5m elsewhere.
'C' is circular and set into the slope. It measures c. 9.5m in diameter with the wall spread to c. 2.5m on the upper side, widening to c. 3.5m on the lower WSW side. The entrance is not apparent.
The field system is defined mainly by stone clearance heaps with occasional lynchets and field walls, forming fields averaging about 30m by 20m.
Visited by OS (R L) 17 November 1969.

At NH 7288 9918 is a small circular enclosure measuring 5.6m in diameter, between the centres of a well-defined wall. The entrance is in the E. The enclosure is probably contemporary with the hut circles and field system.
Huts surveyed 1/10,560.
Visited by OS (J B) 21 May 1975.

No change to the previous reports.
Visited by OS (N K B) 15 October 1980.
