NH79NE 46 784 983.

NH 784 983. 'The Craigton fields' embodying the name of a property which was once the dominant holding but which is now incorporated in Kirkton. It was sometimes, eg. in 1738, in the hands of an important tacksman, and sometimes divided among groups of small tenants. In 1810 it was granted to William Young in wadset.

'Cragtone' is mentioned in 1476, 'Kilmaliecrag' in 1548; 'Cragtoun in Culmaly' with 'the fische gartht' in 1554; 'Culmalie-craigtoun' in 1563; and 'Craigtoune' in 1616.
