Full Description
NC36SE 15 378 635.
At NC 3788 6356 and NC 3786 6353 at the foot of W-facing crags are two hut circles (A and B respectively). Both huts are denuded and heather-covered.
'A', in a depression in the slope, measures 8.5m in internal diameter and has an entrance from the W. The wall stands up to 0.9m high and is roughly spread from 2.0m to 3.0m broad; it is composed substantially of large stone blocks or boulders, some fairly massive, and in the N side of the entrance, incorporates living rock. A crude footing, 3.0m square, intrudes on the hut wall inside S of the entrance.
'B' measures 8.0m by 6.5m internally and has an entrance in the S quarter on the line of the long axis. The wall, with a general spread of 2.0m to 2.5m, is 0.8m high in the E arc, but much reduced elsewhere. There are no signs of associated land use.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J M) 8 November 1978.
