Tumuli - "Some Tumuli are situated about 5 chains west of Carnich" (NC 567 042) Name Book 1873.

It seems probable these were mounds of the stone clearance type profuse in this neighbourhood.
Visited by OS (R D L) 28 June 1963.

In this area are occasional, low, peat or turf-covered mounds of probably prehistoric cultivation, overtaken by early-modern agriculture. Visited by OS (J M) 1 September 1976.
