Full Description

NC50SE 32 5848 0498.

At NC 5848 0498 is a cairn. Visited by OS (A A) 8 June 1971.

This turf-covered round cairn is situated on a spur sloping steeply to the west. It is 13.0m in diameter and survives to a height of 0.8m, the greater part of the centre and NE segment having been quarried for stones.
Surveyed at 1:2500 and 1:10 000. Visited by OS (J M) 4 August 1976.

'A survey of a (re-classified) bronze age hut circle was carried out in advance of road realignment. The building was turf covered with a max height of 1m, diameter of 12m and a possible entrance on E side'.

The remains of this antiquity have been destroyed.
