Full Description

NC64NW 7 6127 4519.
within the deserted settlement of Leitir Mhor, is a turf and heather-covered enclosure possibly a hut circle. It has been levelled and set into the E-facing slope, and measures 13.5m SSE-NNW by 10.5m within a wall spread to 2.5m-3m wide and 0.6m max height. In plan it has a slight angularity not normally found in hut circles. The simple entrance gap is in SSE. The location and to a limited extent the shape of the enclosure suggest that it may be a relatively recent structure, but similarities to a hut circle make positive classification uncertain.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (J B) 10 October 1978.
