(NC 668 583) Hut circle and field clearance
Visited by OS (A A) 21 July 1971.
At NC 6686 5834, on a low ridge, is a single heather covered hut circle measuring 9.0m south east-north west by 8.0m within a wall spread to 2.0m wide and 0.4m high. The entrance is in the south east. Scattered clearance heaps covering about one and a half hectares surround the hut circle; no plots are visible.
An upright stone lies 100.0m to the north east of the hut circle and outside the area of clearance. In plan the stone resembles an irregular truncated triangle, it measures 0.6m by 0.8m high. The stone tapers upwards to a wedge shaped peak. It has undoubtedly been set up but its date and purpose are unknown.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
