OS 6"map, (1962)
Situated on level damp ground near the bottom of a south- facing hillside, is an almost circular enclosure of mature appearnce. It measures 14.5m NW-SE by 13.5m. within a turf-covered bank spread to 2.0m - 2.5m and 0.3m high. Central on top of the bank is a groove, 0.1m deep, which is visible around the whole periphery; there is no trace of stone in the bank. There is a narrow break, 0.6m wide, in the south-west arc. The interior is featureless.
This enclosure, in common with another example 700m to the south-east (See NC64NE 8), may be the remains of a post-clearances turf-built sheepfold (See NC74SW 6 and 8).
Revised at 1:10 000.
Visited by OS (N K B) 6 December 1978.
