There has been a certain amount of confusion about this site due to the fact that a duplicate record, with an incorrect and marginal grid reference (NC500 500) but with the same bibliographic reference (Horsburgh 1870) was created by the OS in 1959. This site was assigned the identifier 'NC55NE0007', which placed it on a different map sheet. An unsuccessful attempt to find the feature (presumably at the incorrect grid reference) was made in 1960. That record has been merged with this (original OS reference NC55SE0018) and in order that nothing is lost, the linked document from NC55NE0007 (previously MHG13279) has also been linked to this record (IS-L 27/01/2014).
