Full Description

Allt Na Feulsaid

NC55SE 22 596 521.

Centred on NC 596 521 in high ground open to west is a settlement of four hut circles (A-D). Associated land use is denoted by scattered field clearance heaps in the vicinity of huts C and D. All the huts are heather-covered and little stone is evident.
Huts A-C are poorly preserved. They measure overall respectively 12.5m diameter, 10.5 by 9.5m and 11.5 by 9.5m, and have entrances from the south quarter on the line of the long axis where applicable; walls are reduced and indeterminate.
Hut 'D' measures 9.5m diameter within a wall standing to 0.6m high and spread to 3.0m broad. There are two well-defined breaks in the hut wall, one in the south-east the other in the north arc; the former appears the more likely entrance position.
Surveyed at 1:10 000. Visited by OS (JM) 27 September 1978
