Full Description

On N-facing slope of Beinn Chaiteag some 100m from its summit is a large cairn measuring about 18m E-W by 15.6m transversely, with a maximum height of 0.8m. Around the edge of the cairn are several large stones set on edge and many stones lie scattered over the mound. On N side, a shepherd's cairn has been erected. On E side are vague outlines of what appears to be a rectangular building about 5.5m long by 2.1m wide.
Visited by OS (W D J) 10 April 1961.

This cairn, as described by previous field investigator, is composed of unusually large blocks and slabs of stone. A small crude enclosure 2m across has been constructed on the cairn. The noted rectangular structure is later. Whether the cairn was chambered cannot be ascertained from the remains.
Revised at 1:10560. Visited by OS (J B) 16 March 1982.
