Full Description

NC14SE 15 1657 4402.

At NC 1657 4402, on the W bank of a stream, is a crescentic burnt mound, some 9m in diameter and 1.1m high, the open end facing on to the stream. Heavy peat cover prevents exploration of body content but position and form leave little doubt to classification. The mound lies between two field systems associated with hut circles (NC14SE 6 and 7). Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (J M) 13 June 1980.
