Full Description

NC14NE 5 1977 4609.

At NC 1977 4609, beside a stream, is a heather-covered, horse-shoe shaped, burnt mound, with its open end towards the stream. It measures 8m NW-SE by 7m transversely and 0.8m high. Probing reveals a content of burnt, friable stones mixed with earth. There is no trace of either hut circles or a field system in the area.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (N K B) 15 July 1980.
