At NC 455 438 occupying the haughland on both banks of Strathmore River is the minor deserted settlement of Crannach comprising the footings of at least four buildings, associated enclosures and rig-and-furrow, overlaid by post-clearance sheepfolds and fields. The name Strathmor as applied to this area by Roy is not known locally.
