Full Description

On the west side of the road from +Scotscaulder to Westerdale on the summit of Appat hill is a poorly preserved cairn, roughly oval in plan approximately 40ft by 30ft, grass covered with many stones showing. A wire fence, ditch and farm track traverse the mound. One earth-bound orthostat is still in position on the north side.

About 150m SE of the cairn the 1st Edition OS Map shows a setting of three standing stones which are no longer visible.
