Full Description

This round cairn on summit of Scrabster Hill has been used as a boundary marker for Scrabster Estate. The present drystone dyke runs over top of mound and wall changes direction at this point. Despite being a named mound it does not appear in Mercers Survey Vol11 1980-1981 map 9. The cairn is about 3-4 ft high and shows 3 large kerb stones in the NE quadrant and a single kerb stone on the west side. The diameter measures 27ft 6inches. There are no obvious signs of a cist or chamber.

Motorcycle scramblers occasionally come within 15 yards of this mound but they are unlikely to encroach on the cairn because of the boundary wall.
