Name: NH 7298 3464 - Rout of Moy (NAT) (A.D. 1746)
OS 6-inch map, 1900

The Earl of Loudon and his forces were routed here in 1746 by a local blacksmith, who, with a handful of men, gave Loudon the impression of a gathering of the clans.
ISSFC 1898

A clearing in the modern forestry plantation close to the present A9 is now pointed out - incorrectly - as the location of this skirmish.
