Full Description

Two conjoined circular features were reported by Mrs E.M Maclean 16/6/90.

The remains of a kiln which may have been used for two distinct purposes. From its relative complexity, it may have originally served as a lime-kiln, presumably to manufacture lime for mortar for the castle. If this was during its original construction, the structure may well have dropped out of folk memory. However, it also looks likely to have been used, perhaps more recently, for drying corn on the castle home farm.
