The tanker SHELBRIT 1 sank following an explosion and fire whilst on passage from Grangemouth to Inverness.

Surveying Details
-----------------------------
26 November 1940. The vessel sank in position bearing 108 degrees, 2.6 miles from Cromarty OCC light.

10 March 1976. The vessel was searched for during July 1975 using transit sonar. It was not found and it is recommended to delete it from charts. Report by HMS ENTERPRISE.
