Full Description

P.M. 26/07/96.

This site was noted during a DBA by J Wood in 1995 in advance of a woodland creation scheme. It was noted as the Garruchir dam dating from the 18th or 19th century and is featured on the 1858 Seafield map. <1>

This site was noted during a DBA and walkover survey by C Dagg in advance of a woodland creation scheme. It was described as a broad earth and rubble bank across the outflow of Loch a’Gharbh-choire with a narrow gap presumably formerly containing a sluice mechanism although blocked by wooden planks at the time of the survey. <2>
