Full Description

Unnamed bridge shown on 1st ed Ordnance Survey map. <1>

Circa 1790. Single span bridge with pronounced hump, and long parapetted approach. Rubble, dressed rubble segmental arch ring and parapet cope. An "excellent road", begun in 1792 and nearly finished by 1794, built by government from Dingwall to Ullapool at cost of $4,500. (Much deteriorated by 1835) Inverlael Bridge now by-passed by re-aligned A835 road; before this the approaches had been flattened. <2>
