Converted building (from old jailhouse to Tourist Info Centre) facing towards southern end of Somerled Square where it meets Bridge Road.

Dispute concerning the adequacy of Portree Jail.
Letter from John M Murray.
He enclosed a letter from Mr Gillespie concerning the Jail. The plan of it is in The Book of Drawings in Mr Dick's custody and if the Sheriff looks at it he will be able to judge for himself, the jail's adequacy.
