'Possible banked enclosure 60m in diameter'.
J Wordsworth 1991. <1>
A possible enclosure, 50m in diameter, was recorded during observation on the route of the Nairn to Inverness pipeline. Ditch 2m wide curves around W side. East ditch less certain and no obvious internal features. Despite a more detailed examination by R.Gourlay and D.Lowe of HRC, it is still unclear whether this is a definite feature. It does hold a commanding position overlooking the Moray Firth and its existence might be confirmed by future AP work.
The NGR given in both the report and in <1> appears to be incorrect. From plans provided by Jonathan Wordsworth, and passed to NMRS, the NGR can be estimated as NH 7924 4995. <2>, <3>
