Full Description

An Early Bronze Age flat axe (Type Ba) was found at Stemster (ND 17 62) and was reported to Callander by Mrs Duff-Dunbar of Ackergill about 1933.

1933 Mrs Duff-Dunbar now deceased.

(Flat axe of Migdale type: location cited as 'Caithness (?)'). Flat axe, green, pitted, most of the patina removed; length 107mm, butt 29mm, cutting edge 52mm, weight 232 gms. Collection of Mrs May, Stemster House, Bower, Caithness.
