Full Description
One unroofed building, which may be a shieling-hut, is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet xiii). The building is not shown on the current OS 1:10,000 map (1988).
Information from RCAHMS (FO) 10 August 1995.
Amid heather covered slopes above the river plain the remains of a sheiling-hut on the west bank of a small tributary. Sub-rectangular in plan, lies on a NE-SW axis, and measures 3.5m by 1.8m. The east side adjacent to the burn is built on a batter, with three courses visible to a height of 0.5m, while the other three sides are less obvious marked by ccasional stones and a low turf bank. There is a substantial rectangular stone 0.6m long by 0.25m wide and 0.3m high on the wset side which was probably on one side of the entrance.
