Full Description

ND15SW 39 108 526

A farmstead comprising one roofed long building and one unroofed building is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1876, sheet xxii), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1963).
Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 27 November 1995

This farmstead was visited by RoCAS during a 2012 DBA and walkover survey on behalf of the Forestry Commission Scotland. Under rushes and tussocky grass were the very degraded remains of the farmstead, which were very difficult to define but appeared to be a longhouse with two possible cells at the southwest end. It may have measured up to 70m long northeast to southwest by 4m wide. <1>
