Information from: Mr P A Yeoman, 20 January 1992.
The ground at the grid reference listed shows no sign at all of a mound. It is now in an area of forestry. There is however, a castle recorded in the vicinity in Northern Narrative by Kenneth A Macrae (1955) who states p. 170: 'A little farther on at Garbole Bridge we see a lone rowan tree, believed to mark the position of a castle, which commanded a fine four way view. All the stones have since been removed to repair and build various farm walls.' There is no lone rowan tree to be seen today. <1>
