Full Description

Longhouse farm (ND 1882 5477), comprising;
A: Longhouse. Dimensions: 23 x 6m. Tripartite rectangular structure with a fireplace in the ESE unit. Orintation ESE-WNW.
B: Longhouse/ outhouse. Dimensions: 7 x 5m. Bipartite rectangular structure following the same line as A. Orientation ESE-WNW.
C: Mill. Dimensions: 7 x 5m. Rectangular structure associated with mill machinery and a lade running N lying 24m N of A. Orientation N-S.
D: Dam. Diameter: 18m. Circular grassy bank 1.5m high at the other end of the lade.

A farmstead comprising one roofed long building, one unroofed building and three enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xviii). An unroofed building is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1976).
