Full Description

A Volunteer two Gun battery and magazine with, immediately to the N, a rifle range and target are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map, (Caithness, 1881, sheet xxxiv)immediately to the S of the town of Lybster. On the modern edition of the OS map (OS 1:10000 map, 1983) there is no evidence for this battery at the equivalent OS grid reference.
