'A relic of the Roman Catholic period in Little Lochbroom came to light in 1933, when in turning the ground on the croft on Camus na Gaull [Camusnagaul: name at NH 063 894], the owner turned up a crystal crucifix in perefect preservation, even to the metal ring for holding the chain. It must have lain undiscovered in the peaty soil for several hundred years.'
