R J Mercer, NMRS MS/828/19, 1995
Three roofed buildings surrounded by several enclosures are shown on the first edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xii). Only one of these roofed buildings is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1970).
Information from RCAHMS (FO) 15 February 1996
GR corrected to above from 1st ed OS - HAW 10/2003
Visited by HET 08/02/2013. Older ruinous buildings as described by Mercer. Most northerly building (omitted by Mercer) is the most recent addition to the farmstead and is of a standard vernacular 3-bay form. Conditon would suggest it has been abandoned for some time. Partial survival of sash and casement frames (6 over 6); defective ridge; rainwater goods missing; western gable leaning out at stack; large hole in roof of lean-to extension to rear. Without internvention prognosis for long term survival is bleak. <1>
