ND26SE 19 255 613
House (ND 2558 6128), 'Sackville House'. The remains of a great house which was destroyed by fire c100 years ago and with only the 'back parts surviving. Inspection of the offices and servants' quarters indicates a date of construction of c1840-60.

Two farmsteads are depicted on first edition of OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xiii) on site of what is now Sackville House and grounds. To N (at ND 256 615) farmstead named Bridge of Hastigrow comprises three roofed buildings, and other is to NE (at ND 257 613) and comprises two roofed buildings. Neither of these is shown on current edition of OS 1:10,560 map (1971).
