Full Description

Liot, Earl of Caithness and Orkney, was fatally wounded in battle with Scottish Earl Magbiod (? MacBeth) at Skida Myre (Skitten: ND 318 570) in 980 AD. He was succeeded by his nephew, Sigurd, who met the Scottish Earl Finlay in battle at the same place before 1014. In both battles, the Norse were victorious.
