A township comprising two roofed buildings, one of which is a T-shaped long building, twelve unroofed buildings, six of which are long buildings and one of these is L-shaped, five enclosures, and three fields, is depicted on the 1st edition of OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxxviii). The township has five foci of settlement. One roofed building, sixteen unroofed buildings, six enclosures and four enclosed fields are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1962).
