Shown on 1st Edition OS 6" map as Kilcoy Arms Inn and just Hotel on 2nd Edition.

Known as the Kilcoy Arms Inn as the lands of Strath Bran in which Achanalt sits, were purchased by Sir Colin Mackenzie of Kilcoy in the early C19. [From "Guide to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, including Orkney and Zetland" by George and Peter Anderson, 1842, page 563]
