Full Description

'... a farmhouse and wauk mill, the farmhouse is one storey thatched with good slated offices houses. The mill is a small thatched house with the usual machinery for the beetling, dyuing and preparing the cloth - driven by water...'

A farmstead and mill, comprising three roofed buildings and one unroofed building are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Nairnshire 1871, sheet iv). Four roofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1979).

Wauk Mill at corrected GR. Water supply from S, split to pass on both sides of buiilding (sluice to S) before passing on to another mill to N. Mill pond to N. 1st ed OS - HAW 10/2002
