Full Description

A local researcher, George Fox, reports that this building was the originally the Caledonian Hotel, which was subsequently enlarged to incorporate 38 High Street. There is a well and an oven in the basement of this building which would have been used as the kitchen. <1>

This building is depicted as the Caledonian Hotel on the 1st and 2nd edition Ordnance Maps of 1871 and 1900. <2><3>
