A circular wall 12ft in diameter was exposed by Alexander Bremner, landlord of Watten Inn, whilst trenching a plot of ground near river in 1840. The interior of the construction was filled with ashes and rubbish among which he found a stone 'celt' 17ins long, 9ins across the broad end and 4 ins across the narrow end, and two round granite balls. None seem to have been preserved.
