Full Description

Cairn, 'Cnoc an Taillir'. Dimensions: 28 x 26m. Grass-covered mound 1.75m high.

Cnoc an Taillir is a turf-covered cairn, situated on a change of slope in a NW-facing field. It measures 18.5 by 17m across and is 1m high viewed from upper side.

Without excavation it is impossible to determine nature or purpose of Cnoc an Taillir, which is visible as a grass-covered mound 18.5m diameter by 1m high, set about half way up N side of Sordale Hill. It has appearance of a cairn.
Resurveyed at 1:2500. Visited by OS (R D) 5 November 1965

A small, conical hillock described as a 'Pictish house', but of which nothing is known.
