Short Cists found AD 1845 and 1865 (NAT)
OS 1:10,000 map, (1977)

A group of short cists was discovered about 1845 during trenching operations, about 50 yds from 'a large green cairn' (presumably ND23NE 3) along the base of a natural wall of rock at Achavar.
About 1865, R I Shearer relocated them and opened three of them.
J Anderson 1866.

The site occurs at the base of a natural ridge of rock running N-S. No other information. Visited by OS (A A) 4 May 1967.
