Full Description
A farmstead comprising one roofed building, two unroofed buildings and an enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1881, sheet lxxxvii). Two unroofed buildings and two enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 6 March 1996.
A basic photographic survey of the surviving remains of the settlement was carried out by Scotia Archaeology in 2005 in advance of the proposed replacement of the Torr Achilty to Garve 33kV power line by Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE). It was difficult to assess the full range of surviving structures because of the height and spread of bracken. <1>
The farmstead was visited during a walkover surevy by Wardell Armstrong in 2011 in advance of the proposed replacement for the Beauly-Mossford overhead power line. It was noted simply that the ruins survived within a cleared area of plantation forestry. <2>
