20 January 1964. The wreck of a "large transport vessel" is reported by Lt Cdr J Ralph, RNR to lie at 58 27 30N, 005 28 00W approximately. This position was obtained using decca.
Report by HMS WOTTON, 22 November 1963.

9 April 1984. The site was examined on 1 March 1984 at 58 27 00N, 005 27 34W using trisponder to gain the posion fix, echosounder and side scan sonar. The least echosounder depth was 89 metres in a general depth of 93 metres. A scour 0.5 metre deep was observed. The side scan soanr indicated a height of 10 metres (two masts), length of 30 metres (98 feet), and beam of 7 metres (23 feet). The keel is lying on an orientation of 010/190 degrees.
