5 November 1987. A wreck, dangerous to submarine navigation, was located at 57 07 52N, 006 47 05W. The least echosounder depth was 134 in a general depth of 143 metres. The length was 75 metres (246 feet) and its stands 9 metres high. It appears to have been mined or torpedoed forward. Report by HMS ROEBUCK, November 1987.
28 January 1988. The site was examined on 3 November 1987 at 57 07 51N, 006 47 05W. Hyperfix6 = [sea of hebrides] patt 6-5 987.31, patt 5-1 295.08. Trisponder ranges - Neist 32591 metres, Usinish 30876 metres, Hyskier 19075 metres. Decca = [hebridean] red d 7.35, green d 34.90, purple a 68.70. The least echosounder depth was 135 in a general depth of 144 metres. No scouring was observed. The side scan sonar indicated a height of 9.2 metres, length of 80 metres (262 feet), and width of 25 metres (82 feet). It is lying with its keel on an orientation of 140/320 degrees.
