10 August 1976. A new wreck has been located. Its position was fixed at 57 49 02N 003 36 46W by Moray Firth hi-fix chain(u)patt1 331.00 patt2 326.30. Site examination was by side scan sonar and close sounding. The least depth over the wreck by echosounder was 26.9 metres. The general depth by echosounder was 29.6 metres. The sea bed is of small stones and broken shell. No scouring was observed on the echosounder. The depth datum was taken from Burghead or 2.10 metres below Ordnance Datum. The wreck lies with its keel on an orientation of 070/250 degrees and is approximately 125 metres (410 feet) long. The vessel was located by sonar during area search from two directions and was subsequently close sounded by boat. No decca co-ordinates were given by the boat. The site was located on 2 July 1975 and examined on 30 July 1975.
