10 August 1976. A new wreck has been located at 57 49 57N, 003 32 54W. The position was fixed by Moray Firth hi-fix chain(u)patt1 332.56 patt2 352.34 and decca(u)n scot.chain red g23.35 green a42.15 purple a 63.30. Site examination was by side scan sonar and close sounding. The least depth over wreck by echosounder was 34.4 metres. The general depth of sea bed by echosounder was 35.3 metres. The water depth of scour observed by echosounder was 35.6mtrs. The sea bed is of small stones and broken shell. The depth datum was taken from Burghead or 2.10 metres below Ordnance Datum. The site is either an isolated rock or a small wreck. The site was located during area sonar search from one direction only and then subsequently close sounded. The site was first located on 2 July 1975.
