Full Description

On a terrace some 2m above the Langwell Water, is a turf-and-heather covered enclosure. It is approximately pear-shaped, measuring 19.5m NW-SE by 10m transversely, and bounded by a wall, 0.5m maximum height, in which boulders and some rubble stones are visible protruding through the turf. Some stones litter the interior including one lintel-type block, 1.9m long, 0.6m wide and 0.4m high, which lies close to, and parallel with, the SW wall. No wall faces and no entrance can be seen.
The age and function of this enclosure cannot be determined from present remains though it appears to be of considerable antiquity.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (N K B) 12 November 1982.
